Julien's Farm Store is Hiring a Chef/Baker Near Granby, CT

About us

Julien’s is a new Farm Store and Bakery / Café in Granby, Connecticut, and was created to serve seasonal food and baked goods. The response from the region's residents has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are excited to grow into our full potential and meet the demands. Everything is made from scratch with love each morning. Our menu, drinks, garden, and offerings change as we go, evolving with the seasons and the needs of our community.

You must have experience with working baker's hours, or be willing and prepared for early morning shifts.

Responsibilities:

- Work with head chef to develop and execute growing menu of prepared foods as well as grab-and-go offering
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including pastries and desserts
- Follow recipes and measurements accurately to ensure consistency
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to achieve desired results
- Decorate and present baked goods in an appealing manner
- Clean and maintain baking equipment and work area
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations

Experience:
- Previous experience as a baker and/or chef in a similar role is required
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Creativity and ability to develop new recipes or modify existing ones

Note: Bartending experience is not relevant to the position of Baker.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
